Job description
### About the Role We're looking for a product-minded AI engineer to help build our next generation of AI-powered data and marketing workflow products from the ground up. You'll work closely with a small, high-velocity team — including senior leadership — to rapidly prototype and ship production-grade LLM applications that directly impact how enterprise customers interact with their data. ### What You'll Do - Rapidly prototype and iterate on proofs of concept (POCs) exploring AI integration across data and marketing workflows. - Architect and build production LLM pipelines and data agents that help users answer analytics and data science questions using their own data. - Make key technical decisions around AI architecture, frameworks, and when to apply specific LLM methodologies. - Partner directly with senior leadership to define, prototype, and ship new product ideas that lay the groundwork for major product lines. - Develop a deep understanding of user workflows to create seamless, AI-assisted user experiences. - Evaluate different AI approaches and determine where various LLMs can and cannot be effectively applied within the product. ### What We're Looking For - 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated growth in scope and ownership. - Strong backend engineering skills — system design, scalable APIs, and production data pipelines. - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for building production backend services. - Experience building complex AI applications beyond simple RAG implementations or chatbots — roughly 80–90% software engineer, with deep AI implementation knowledge. - Prior experience working with LLMs, ML, or data-driven product features; familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, and model orchestration is a plus. - Experience integrating with data sources such as SQL databases, data warehouses, or analytics APIs. - Comfort with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. - Strong product intuition and customer-centric thinking, ideally from an early-stage engineering or founding role. - Background at a high-velocity, VC-backed startup (Series A through D/E/F); experience in B2B SaaS, analytics, or martech is a plus. - Strong CS or math fundamentals from a rigorous academic program. - Excellent communicator — able to discuss technical problems and AI integration approaches clearly and concisely. - Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. ### Compensation & Benefits Salary range: **$200,000 – $320,000 USD annually**. Equity included. Visa sponsorship is **not available** for this role. ### Location This role is **fully remote** within the United States, with a primary anchor in **New York, NY**. Candidates located in or willing to make occasional trips to the San Francisco Bay Area are also welcome.
