About the Program: The associate program is a two-year rotation program through Wellmark’s technology division, which is responsible for technology and member experience. Wellmark believes in developing top talent with skills in multiple core areas. The associate program will give you access and hands on work in multiple areas of our technology organization. Throughout each or your rotations, you will be responsible for executing deliverables as directed by Wellmark leadership. You will take ownership in the development of critical skills and make a measurable impact by completing daily work, leading, and contributing to projects within Wellmark. You will interface and collaborate with a variety of areas in our division, including but not limited to user experience design, application delivery, application operations, data management, quality engineering, cloud services, and information security. Program Details: Start Date of Monday, June 7th, 2027 Multiple Program Spots Available (4) 2-year program made up of four, 6-month rotations to enable you to deliver value to Wellmark while gaining relevant career experiences within a technology division. At the end of the 2-year program, you will have a role within the Technology division that balances your career preferences and the needs of the Wellmark Technology division at that time. Rotations will be based on discussions with your rotation leaders and program sponsor. They will be individualized based on your skill set, career goals, and needs for Wellmark Technology. Rotation options may include: API / Services Engineering Application Production Support Analytics User Experience Design (UX) Cloud Support & Engineering Data Engineering Artificial Intelligence Front End Engineering Cyber Security / Information Security Full Stack Development Quality Engineering & Testing Product Development (Product Owner / Scrum Master) *All rotation options are subject to business need and skill set fit Benefits: Competitive Starting Base Salary (Job Board estimates on salary are likely very incorrect) Full time, Exempt, Benefit eligible position Benefit opportunities include, but are not limited to: Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, Onsite Wellness Facility (no fee and a plus one!), Paid Time Off (PTO) Accrual & Paid Holidays, Educational Assistance including a Student Loan Repayment Program and Tuition Plus Benefit Educational assistance: Wellmark’s educational assistance includes two benefits: Tuition Plus benefit: If you’re currently working on a degree, or plan to in the future, you may be eligible upon employment to receive up to $15,000 annually for transferable credit classes, books and fees completed at an accredited learning institution. Student Loan Repayment benefit: You may also be eligible after your first six months to receive monthly payments, of up to $5,000 per year, to help repay college student loans for an existing, qualifying degree. Loans must be in the employee’s name from a federal or state licensed financial institution or through a student loan program. You may participate in both programs, but the maximum annual benefit is $15,000. Interview Process Note: Optional: come see us at your local Iowa and South Dakota University fall career fairs to discuss the program. Preliminary phone interviews will occur throughout the month of September and early October. Final Interviews with Wellmark Technology Leaders will occur from October 23rd - October 28th Final decisions and offers will be complete by November 6th, 2026. Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical degree program (e.g. Computer Science, MIS, etc.) 2026 graduates or anticipated May 2027 graduates, only (Schools with different graduation dates in this window are qualified as well) Previous Experience: relevant internship experience OR previous leadership/mentorship experience in an academic, professional or volunteer setting OR experience driving solutions to support Wellmark business initiatives (e.g. testing, business analysis, development, cloud service support, etc) Self-Starter who takes a proactive approach to learning and continual development Proven experience managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines Effective planning and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams Ability to come up with creative solutions to address problems Preferred: Wellmark Internship experience 3.0 GPA or higher, on a 4.0 scale
