Position Summary: Globus Medical is a growing and profitable medical device Company that is looking for a bright and motivated individual to join its legal team as Senior Counsel - Litigation. The Senior Counsel will lead worldwide legal support and strategic guidance in the management of a broad range of complex litigation, disputes, investigations and risk-management matters affecting the Company and its businesses. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling complex commercial, employment and product liability litigation, preferably within medical device, life sciences, or biotechnology industries. The successful candidate will be a pragmatic, business-oriented counselor who can independently manage sophisticated matters while partnering effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders. The role will have significant responsibility for developing litigation strategy, managing outside counsel, advising business leaders on litigation risk, and protecting the Company’s interests in a regulated and publicly accountable environment. The Senior Counsel will report to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel. Essential Functions: Manage a diverse portfolio of complex litigation and disputes, including product liability, commercial disputes, contract matters, employment-related litigation, and other business-critical claims. Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with the Company's legal, business, financial, and reputational objectives. Oversee all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, expert strategy, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, trial, and appeals. Manage pre-litigation disputes, demand letters, threatened claims, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Coordinate responses to subpoenas, government inquiries, investigations, and other matters that may result in litigation or regulatory exposure. Select, retain, and effectively manage outside counsel and litigation vendors. Establish clear expectations with outside counsel regarding strategy, staffing, budgets, reporting and outcomes, while monitoring legal spend and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value. Assess potential exposure and provide senior management with clear, practical recommendations that balance risk with the Company’s commercial objectives. Partner with the Company's insurance, finance, compliance, quality, regulatory, and other functions on claims and litigation-related issues. Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the Company’s business, its people, products, technology, markets, facilities, customers and competitors to assist the Company in meeting overall business objectives. Working with business counterparts, both domestically and internationally, to provide advice on commercial legal risks and issues. Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and member in good standing of at least one state bar. Strong preference for candidates licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. Minimum 5 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably including substantial experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Significant experience independently managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution. Experience with investigations, subpoenas or enforcement actions. Demonstrated experience managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, and sophisticated litigation strategies. Excellent legal and business judgment and the ability to communicate practical advice while balancing legal risks with business needs. Strong written, verbal, negotiation and analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Able to multi-task and handle a variety of competing priorities simultaneously. Well organized, detail oriented and a team player capable of working effectively and collaboratively with executives and cross-functional teams in a deadline dictated environment.
