This position reports to: Engineering Team Lead - Data Center __ In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for the role is remote #LI-Remote This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Houston, TX, Lake Mary, FL or Mebane, NC. Your role and responsibilities • Being responsible for the project design and coordinates design deliverables. The project engineer would be the technical lead working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements. Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve issues of mutual concern and to seek opportunities for additional business. • Being the technical lead for data center solutions by working closely with customers, general contractors, suppliers on electrical equipment design including Ehouse, Medium, switchgears, Switchboards, transformers etc... • Ensuring compliance with Electrical standards, IEC, NEC, IEEE, UL • Managing customer expectations and maintaining engineering change order control • Coordinating with manufacturing, procurement and testing teams to prepare and execute FAT, IFAT. • Reviewing design and documentation for accuracy, maintaining design changes, identifying and mitigating technical risks. • Showing leadership by mentoring junior engineers and documenting best practices • Staying current with data center trends, evaluating new design methodologies and contributing to process improvements. Qualifications for the role • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and skills. • Data Center Infrastructure Knowledge. • Ehouse and Modular systems experience • Functional team with more than 5 years relevant engineering experience in electrical power systems and project engineering. • Strong knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, protections, controls, automation, and integration within Power Distribution Centers; familiarity with transformers, drives, motors, bus duct, cables, and associated equipment. • Ability to design and calculate electrical systems for integrated Power Distribution Centers, including cable sizing, conduit fill, voltage drop, breaker sizing, and overall HV–LV distribution. • Proficiency in creating, modifying, and reviewing electrical drawings (single-line, three-line, schematics, interconnections, wire lists) and validating vendor/customer designs, protection schemes, and metering. • Working knowledge of IEEE/ANSI, NEMA, NETA, API, PIP, NEC/NESC standards and codes; capable of influencing senior stakeholders and customers, with basic understanding of battery storage, chargers, and UPS systems. • This role requires some overnight travel will vary up to 30%. • Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.
